BIOGRAPHY
Catherine Fourniau, born in 1948 in Lyon, studied drawing and graphic design in various art studios in Paris.
From 1968 to 1980, she worked as a graphic designer in Paris, then in Florence, Italia.
She decided from then on to fully devote herself to sculpture and settled in Pietrasanta. Due to the proximity of the Carrara marble quarries, and also internationnally renowned for its marble studios and bronze foundries, the city has been for a long time now a work and exchange space for sculptors from all over the world.
She then began her long-lasting collaboration with the fonderia d’arte Massimo del chiaro, with whom/ which (j’ai un doute…) she still works today.
Catherine Fourniau realised several monumental sculptures both for public (France, Belgium) and private commissions (Italy, New York).
One can find her work / her work can be found in private collections in Belgium, France, Great Britain, Italy, Japan and USA.
